About the company/role:Based in the south of Sydney, this well-known government organisation undertakes leading edge research in nuclear science and technology and provides specialised advice to government, industry, academia and other research organisations. The biochemist will conduct research with yeast and microbial genetics.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop heterologous expression systems from yeast
- Conduct lipid biosynthesis, purification and scale-up production
- Conduct isotope labelling on new biosynthetic molecules
Skills & experience:- PhD in Synthetic Biology or related discipline
- Knowledge of microbial genetics, metabolism and physiology
- Experience with heterologous expression systems from yeast
- Reliable and deadline driven with project management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to present technical information
